Working in a GOCC (Government Owned and Controlled Corporation) is kinda fun. Your company will most of the time (if not always) on the limelight. Your Board of Directors and Chairman will always be appointed by the President of the Philippines. The smallest purchase and the singlest centavo will be reported to the Department of Budget and Management and is subject to Commission on Audit’s policies.
I have been here for a year and 4 months. In this short span of time, I’ve already met 3 new Chairman.
First, Sec. Ed Pamintuan (former DOTC Secretary). He has to resign from office because he decided to run on the last 2010 elections in Pampanga as a Mayor of Angeles City. He won.
Second, is John Paolo Hizon (Vice Chairman of teh Climate Change COmmission). Both the first and second chairmen that I’ve met were appointed by PGMA, both Kapampangan. love your own, daw.
Just today, another appointee was introduced to us. Jose Martin Aliling was appointed by P-Noy on January 10, 2011. He is an Engineer by profession. If I am not mistaken, he is the Jose Aliling of the JOSE ALILING & ASSOCIATES – a Project Management Firm.
Among those three, JMA seems to be the most optimistic. He speaks well, and carries himself the way a man with dignity does. (kanya-kanyang opinion naman yan.)
It could be very early to tell, but who knows. My impression could be true.
He could be the one and the only person that NORTH LUZON RAILWAYS CORPORATION is waiting.
I, myself can’t wait to see the trains running from Caloocan to Subic! Kahit yung Section 1 lang muna, please!
